Although I like both the versions of this tune, I can hear where (I think) you’re headed with the new down-tempo dotted-eighth triplet feel.
I think the current version could build more dynamically and be more insistent. You might also want to experiment with alternating the following chord changes under the verse(s). Try this:
C.. C/Bb.. l F/A.. C/Bb.. l C.. C/Bb.. l F.. Eb. Bb.
There… how’s that for specific. Looking forward to seeing you in Seattle.
